People helping people. The flood has brought them together. There it is, the American spirit that I haven’t seen since the last election.
Colors race, gender, religion, politics all of it lost it importance in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. People came together and helped each other, no questions asked.
A human chain; strangers holding hands to rescue a stranded driver.

Perhaps we are not as divided as we think we are?

All that seems to separate us, in the end, it doesn’t matter.

Neighbors using their private boats to help and rescue. People risked their lives to help others.

Some showed initiative and didn’t wait for help but helped themselves. 🙂

Awful that this is what it takes, though! It will be a long time till Houston recovers. Terrible scenes!
It will take time and money, but it will get done.
I don’t doubt that but you can’t give people back their lives. I applaud your sentiments but it’s been tragic all round.
Oh, absolutely. I am always terrified when I see disasters like that. Nature has a special way of showing us how small we are.
It does feel like we’ve seen the best of people under the worst of conditions. Maybe it can help us all push our “re-set” buttons and help us find each other again. I know I’ve felt a little lost, too! Inspiring, fabulous photos.
“A little bit lost” that’s an understatement 🙂
A bit of satisfaction amidst the disaster..!
Horrifying disaster. I’ve heard so many stories of people helping others. Texans should be proud.
Gotta love that dog.
This is awesome!
Thanks Bridget- so hopeful, pity that it takes tragedy to bring us together, but so reaffirms our faith in kindness to one another
A wonderful post! Sharing… xo
