Once upon a time, I watched the news
then they broke me beyond repair.
Broken by a repetition of breaking news
and by neverending celebrity worship
that gets interrupted for yet another shooting
or shouting -whatever comes first.
Numbed by superficial hate and bad research
I left and invented headline surfing,
that’s as much as I can stomach these days.

Sharing!! 🙂 Best of all, an ad popped up on your post for Italian Wine and a video of wine being poured into a glass! I’m surfing too (with a glass of wine in hand 😉 )

Thank you for sharing.
I’m with ya!
True words.
At least you have the stomach to LOOK. I have lost that ability and tend to bury my head firmly in the sand. Keeps my ulcer under control if nothing else. There is NO ‘newsworthy’ news…I think journalism is mostly dead. Only sound bites, shock news, and other things not worth my time are for the most part the only things left being reported. I don’t care any more which is why I don’t look. But now and then? You might hear something worthwhile.
I can’t bury my head in the sand, it would make my ass stick out .
*snicker*. Well then there you are. Mine is probably sticking out a MILE… 🙂
Well done. I shared this on FB.
So true…
It’s sad how we jump from one story to another without paying due respect to each
Well said! <3
