Thirty things that make me happy? Wow, that’s a lot of happiness. Let’s see:
- A hug
- A kiss
- A handwritten card or note
- Watching the dogs play
- Dog kisses (and slobbers)
- Watching the birds on the feeder
- The sun
- A warm rain
- Snow
- A winter walk with the dogs
- A clean house
- An empty laundry basket
- A finished project
- Fresh sheets
- A good book
- Music that fits my mood
- A happy cry
- A movie that touches my heart
- Sex, making love, and all the in-between we don’t talk about
- When justice is served
- My husband (90% of the time)
- A self-made gift
- A genuine compliment
- The feeling after I did the right thing
- Seeing happiness in others
- Children’s laughter
- An unexpected pleasant surprise
- Delightful memories that float by unannounced
- Helping when nobody is watching, and succeeding
- Exceeding my own expectations
….and so much more
My husband, #21, is listed after the dogs and sex. Now that’s stuff for a therapy session. 🙂
I wrote it as it popped up in my head. I didn’t proofread it and don’t intend to, or I will overthink it and then I would start changing things and orders. Nope! I leave it as it is! (Sorry, honey).

Love the list! And… “My husband, #21, is listed after the dogs and sex. Now that’s stuff for a therapy session.” LOL
Excellent post, but I will have to ponder a few days before completing the list of 30 things that make me happy. I derive happiness in individual moments, when I sense all nature around me is copperating in joyfulness. Number One thing . . .
Small things make most of us happy, but they come to you when you start writing the list 🙂
Right you are. They escape me when I focus on the list. This morning, before daylight, I can corral thoughts for my blog about the differences between tribal and European values in attitudes towards the earth’s many resources.
One thing that makes me happy today is that ny two animal charges are okay. The stray cat I feed, Lollipop, appeared for his breakfast, and Speckes, my 12-plus year-old, home born and raised rooster, is awake and crowing since dawn. I have cut my fingernails so don’t make as many input mistakes on this clucking cell phone.
best
😄
I can agree with many of this on the things that make ME happy! #19 made me giggle. “All the things we don’t talk about!”. That would be a great post lol #23 – Absolutely!!! This is all beautifully written. <3
A delightful list! I felt happy reading it. 🙂 To be honest, it made me think about how I had to shut the door to keep the dog out of our bed a couple night ago.
An impressive list. Poor hubby, I’m sure he will get over it. Ha, ha!
A super list. I am afraid the dogs would come before hubby here too, but he knows that. I might have had dark chocolate and a song that brings back good memories on my list but most of yours work for me too.
I think my husband knows it too :).
Good grief, I forgot chocolate on my list.
That is a lot of happy! 🥰
Being happy get easier with age. Hard to explain. Yep, that’s a lot of happiness and that’s good.
No need to explain. I completely understand and feel the same. 👍🏻
What a marvellous list Bridget. I’m sure that spouses will feature below dogs in the majority of such lists! 🤗💛🦮
I am so glad to read this. I laughed when I saw the dogs listed before my husband.
It appears your stream of consciousness served you well. Bridget. Interesting, fun list. 🙂
It always interesting to read what comes to our minds when we don’t filter or edit it. I am glad you liked my list.
I love the list of the things that make you happy! 😘😘😘
It’s the little things in life, not the money or the valuables we think we need.
I totally agree with you 🙏💗
I agree with you!
Great list Bridget. It is the little things that bring joy, for sure. Everyone spends so much time striving after that big exciting moment, they ignore all the little stuff along the way. As to #21, show him the list and see if #19 develops. Have a good day. Allan
So true, Allan. We don’t know it when we are young(er) but with age we see the true meaning of things.
You suggestion made me laugh out loud. Thanks for that.
😁
A great list. 🙂
Thank you, Liz. It was very spontaneous and it surprised me how quickly I answered.
I have been fascinated and I enjoyed reading those who have done this prompt. 🙂
