What a great photo, Bridget! I love it! One of these days I will capture a good moon shot… I keep trying.

    • In my photography class (online during COVID) I learned the best time for moon pictures is either 2 days before a full moon, or two days after. The best months are October and November. 🙂

    • It’s called “The terminator” (the edge of sunlight) as it crosses the moon night after night. You’ll see many details on the moon, craters and riles. Especially in ‘toe nail moons.” It’s fascinating. The sun is almost behind the moon in this photo, so the sunlight is hitting the area near the light-dark boundary close to parallel to the moon’s surface. These shadows really make the craters stand out.

I saw that sliver of a moon yesterday morning, taking the dog out. Today it’s pouring rain, so no view of the moon. I enjoyed it though, thinking how fast it goes from full moon to just a sliver…and also thinking I should have been out during the dark night looking at the Milky Way, but instead I was sleeping. Silly me.

    • It started raining in the night and it hasn’t stopped ever since. I love it when the moon seems so close, or when it’s just a sliver.
I need more sleep that’s for sure. I will try.

  3. The moon is always a captivating image, no matter how many times I see it. However, where is the man fishing off the end?

    • I hasn’t lost it’s magic for me either. All the stories and pictures about it. As for the man, he might have fallen off. 🙂

    • Nature paints beautiful pictures and gives the most surreal lightning, especially at dusk and dawn. It’s worth going out 🙂
