What kind of berries are those? I love your close-ups. So many people will walk right by things as wonderous and just not look. I’m inspire to be more conscious of the beauty around me because of your photos!
You just made my day. Thank you so much, what a compliment. We all (me included) have the tendency to overlook the tree, because of the forest around us. 🙂 It’s a sumac brush. I have no idea how the berries taste. I heard they are sour.
So there’s regular sumac and the berries are edible (in small quantities like a seasoning) Then there’s poison sumac which acts like poison ivy. Leaves will leave a residue on the skin and berries will make you sick.
Regular sumac has leaves arranged in an alternating system.
While poison sumac has leaves are opposite of each other.
Thank you for making me curious enough to discover the difference!
