Taxi – Friday Fictioneers

Friday Fictioneers.jpg

“Please, tell us what you saw that night.”

“It was around 9 o’clock in the evening; taxis were parked everywhere around the bridge. The drivers waited for each other and then they walked down the stairs together.”

“What happened then?”

“They started beating him, all of them; they beat him over and over.”

That must have been awful to witness. Can you tell me who started it?”

-Silence

“Sir, please answer the question and may I remind you that you are under oath.”

-Silence

“Sir, please answer the question.”

The victim started it; he had robbed a taxi driver that night.”

  1. This type of thing continues to happen. It’s a shame and a scandal. Good writing with plenty of tension, Bridget. Well done. I hope you’re feeling better soon. —- Suzanne

    • Thank you Suzanne. I start to feel better, just this cough seems to be lingering a little bit longer.

  2. There is always an explanation that turns the table… hopefully the “victim” will be OK in jail

  3. Never apologize for a good idea! We all should feel uncomfortable about vigilante justice!

If only all those who take the law into their own hands were brought to justic, but all too often things are swept under the carpet. I hope you feel better soon.

    • I started to feel sick at the last day of a big project. I finished it and went straight to bed. I have been so lucky. I could have not finished in time while being sick.

        • I am trying. I felt better yesterday and today I feel like a flat tire. I guess it’s true. It takes 2 weeks to get over a sever cold without medication and 14 days with. 🙂

  7. Dear Bridget,

Vigilantes don’t really accomplish anything but more violence. Dark story. Well written. I hope you’re feeling better…at least from your flu.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Let’s hope more vigilante justice isn’t where the world is heading in general. Nice take.
