As with Facebook, since I don’t pay for WordPress, it doesn’t bother me when they change things around. If I *were* a paying customer, then I might have something to say, but since I’m not then I just go with the flow.
Thanks for the info. I don’t check reader often. I generally click view and read from the original blogs written by the people I normally follow. I might find others from their “sneak peeks,” if they have researched the venues that I am likely to enjoy.

I have an Apple computer and a Microsoft machine. The funny thing is that although I am getting the new reader everywhere, even on my iPad, my Apple computer still has the good old format. I too wrote a blog today. I really wanted to stop complaining about every silly thing, but when they want to talk of folley, I do too. You have explained it much better than I did. But we will have to swallow it all the same. What made me chuckle were the praises people were uttering about this new wonderful improvement on the WordPress notification. Do they pay these people, or do they write them theirself?
I wonder about this too. Is there some sort of quid pro quo relationship? Are they WP plants? Because honestly, what blogger could like this new reader compression?
This sounds like they’re doing a Facebook and controlling what we see. Not in the interests of free speech! But to be honest I rarely use the reader anyway – I rely on email notifications for new posts on the blogs I follow.
Then it’s a real shame that they’re changing it. I’ve always felt a bit short changed by it. My blog is quite small and I like to be given credit for everyone who reads it – sometimes the reader doesn’t count page views, which leaves me feeling a bit cheated! It’s weird getting more likes than page views, too, which often seems to be the case early in the day.
I hate the new format and think as a paying member of WordPress I should have had some say before they did it. Inserting blog posts I am not interested in and weeding out the ones I follow is just wrong. Bad move

Maybe they pay people to write praises. 🙂 I wish we would have a say in this. Backward progress seems to be modern this days.

I find it very confusing and highly annoying. They take more and more the fun out of it, don’t they.
