PHOTO PROMPT
Shaktiki Sharma
Kurt stared outside the window, his nose pressed against the glass. He had spent the last two days on a Greyhound bus, so he could finally meet the person he had fallen in love with.
‘Online friendships are not real,” all his friends at home had warned him.
He didn’t listen, bought the ticket anyway.
‘What if he is not here?’
He felt a knot in his stomach.
And then he saw him. He was standing there, wet as a drowned rat and he was holding a yellow rose as he said he would.
That’s as real as it gets.

The Friday Fictioneers are held by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. The 100-word photography challenge was a real test this week. I frantically searched for my reading glasses, still couldn’t say for sure what I saw -or not saw. I guess that’s why they call it fiction. 🙂

I’m a sucker for a happy ending 🙂
Me too, me too!~
After reading so many dark stories with this photo prompt, it’s nice to read one with a happy beginning. Hopefully, there will be many, many more yellow roses.
Happy New Year 2017 🎉 Cheers 🍷

I am a firm believer in the on-line friendship and/or love. So happy they found each other!
I foresee a long term relationship for these two.🙂
That’s a lovely heartwarming story!
Thank you reclining gentleman (cool name) Happy New Year! 🙂
Worth the journey, a happy ending.
Good luck to them both – it can be for real!
What a beautiful, happy ending! So rare, these days.
They happen 🙂 Thank you!
Lovely! His faith was justified.
Yes, it was 🙂
I think online friendship is for real… it seems to be one of the most common nowadays
I think it gets as real as we let it.
A touching story. Online dating takes some perseverance and you often kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your Prince Charming, but a lot of successful relationships start this way. 🙂
The “frog kissing” happens either way, online and offline. Life is tough. 🙂
I too have met many amazing people online. Gotta keep the hope 😎
Dear Bridget,
I’ve met some very real friends online…and some who turned out to be not so much. Sweet story.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you, Rochelle.
Happy New Year to you!
