He had just shown up one day.
He stood there silently and looked around like he was trying to figure out if this place was to his liking.
His eyes were remarkable; he studied us and his surroundings carefully. We were unsure what to think of him, we didn’t know how to react.
Did we have to give a sign of approval or would we just wait and see what he would do?
After a short while, he took the first step, came closer and greeted us friendly.
It was a special day when the dog moved into the mill.

Two years ago I had feral cats move into my workroom. The showed up that winter when it was freezing cold and they looked at me like I had to perform some kind of test. They still come by and they tolerate the dogs, me and my husband. 🙂
