It’s Wednesday, time for another post,
more fiction, a short story,
based on a photography.
Just 100 words, I can do it.
I am ready, can’t wait to see.
What will it be?
And then I look, and I go blank.
A beautiful picture.
I see a flag, we are in France;
an older building,
an empty street.
I sit on my desk and wait,
my fingers on the keyboard,
ready to type.
I have an idea.
No, that’s not it.
I can’t feel it,
nothing moves me today.
Sorry guys, still nothing.
Perhaps next week?
One shouldn’t force it.
Word Count: 100
The Friday Fictioneers are held by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. It’s a fun challenge. I enjoy writing as much as reading.
Today, however, I had an off-day and one has to acknowledge and embrace an off-day. See (and read you) next week.

Very funny, you got a story out of not having one, clever
You nailed it! 🙂
It happens like that some times….
You could always go with the old standby from my youth,
I see Paris, I see France, I see someone’s underpants. 🙂
“I see London, I see France, I see someone’s underpants.” Gosh, you make me feel old. 🙂
Sorry about that
No. I meant that’s what we learned back home (Austria/Italy) here in the U.S. it’s your version I belief. Both are correct. 🙂
Goodness I didn’t mean to correct you. How could I.
Actually I though the picture very hard as well…. but at least France is in the news.
Yes all eyes are on France right now.
Well you did write what the picture inspired you to write. I think it was well done.
Thank you
At least you wrote something! One time I looked at the picture…walked away….came back and still nothing…this happened for a couple of days. Yay you!
If it ain’t there don’t worry, take a walk or tend the garden, have a nice meal, well that’s my philosophy. Loved your piece this week.
Thank you, Michael. You did forget to list the glass of wine. 🙂
Whatever is your tipple.😉 Sadly good wine sends me to sleep.
Ha, when it isn’t there, it isn’t there. Nice way to keep writing through the drought 🙂
Thank you, Iain.
Nice one, Bridget. It’s a story most of us can relate to! 🙂
I am glad you liked it.
Some weeks are like that. It happens to all of us. A very clever way of reminding us, though. 🙂 <3
Thank you!
If I had a dollar for every time I was stood-up waiting for inspiration to arrive, I would be a wealthy woman 😉 I think you handled being stood-up very well!
You and me, both. 🙂
Forcing usually ends up in a compromised piece that you wouldn’t be happy with- I think you made the right choice- sometimes we just have to let it go!
See, we think alike 🙂
Dear Bridget,
We’re all entitled to a blank week once in a while. You presented it imaginatively. Just for fun, here’s one I wrote while having the same lack of inspiration. Hope you enjoy it. https://rochellewisoff.com/2016/02/17/19-february-2016/
Shalom,
Rochelle
It looks like I am in good company then. Good to know 🙂
We had similar thoughts this week, my story isn’t really a story either 🙂
It wasn’t a picture that got my imagination going.
Sometimes it’s good to just say ‘ nope – nothing’s going to come’. See you next week.
Yep that’s what I thought.
Very clever – I agree with Patricia
Clever, Bridget. 😀 — Suzanne
Thank you, Suzanne.
