Do You Remember The Purple Girl?

I do, and please don’t tell her, but she always reminded me of the little girl in Poltergeist. That movie scared everything out of me in the 80’s.

The Purple Girl spoke to me. I have always liked grape juice, even as a child. Back home in Austria we had bottles of homemade grape juice -white, purple, and dark red. It made my tongue purple, my lips red and I imagined I was drinking a glass of wine like adults.

Twenty years later, and 5000 miles away from home, I still drank grape juice -still do to this day. As a young adult, I watered it down to 1/4 juice to 3/4 water, I do that with all juices, I like it that way. I didn’t know many typical American brands, so I solely relied on advertisements and because of the blonde girl and her beautiful smile, I always bought Welch’s grape juice.

So many years later, I still remember little Emily Mae, selling us grape juice with her cuteness. She looked like a little girl and sounded so cute when she shared her love for the purple juice with all of us.

The perfect little girl, well-behaved, smiling, drinking her juice.

Of course, we knew it was a commercial, but she made it very special. Today in the morning, on my daily quest for a morning laugh, I stumbled across the bloopers of the same commercial, and can I confess one thing, before you watch it, please?

I would have bought the double amount of Welch’s grape juice if they had used the bloopers as TV advertisement.

From cute, to cuter 🙂

Drink? Whew, I feel good!~

That was adorable! I will occasionally have orange or grapefruit juice but rarely grape. Now every fall I have to have at least one gallon of apple cider spiced up and heated! Mmmm!

Bless her, she hasn’t sold me on it at all, but the outtakes are funny. I wonder what she looks like now?

Aww, I remember her, too! She’s darling!!🥰🩷 Like you, I would’ve bought MORE juice seeing the 2nd commercial with the bloopers. Adorable!! Because of the sugar content, I had to water my juices down, too. I seldom drink it anymore. But I’m craving it now after watching this! Lol

    • See, that’s what I was talking about. The bloopers are so much more interesting and more honest. 🙂

    • I do too. Maybe that’s the reason why I started to water everything down?

Cute kids can be the perfect spokespeople for a product. I do remember her, but while I used to drink grape juice, I seldom drink juice these days. I do recall the purple tongue. Happy Thursday Bridget. Allan

    • I don’t touch sodas, so it’s either water or water mixed with sugar-free, organic juices. Right now it’s Zero sugar Lemonade with water. I love it. A bit of a different taste now and then.
