A wonderful group of photos! I wish I knew my birds better to identify all that you saw. That one sitting on the pole is beautiful!

  2. Predawn walks are the best! Lovely images. Where are your dogs? 🙂

    • Patches, our pitbull mix will be 10 this year already. She hates snow and considers being outside in the cold a form of dog abuse. 🙂 She is a senior dog and I don’t take her on long walks anymore. I keep Vader, our 2 year old on the leash now. It’s brutal cold and these areas have too much water (small creeks and ponds). He loves going for a swim and I don’t want him soaking wet in these cold temperatures when we are an hour away from the car. Also, there is too much wildlife. Animals and birds are out on the search for food or huddled up somewhere to stay warm. Vader sniffs them and I don’t trust him yet to be called back while in ‘action’.

      • I have a granddog, a silver lab, that can’t be trusted in the wide open spaces. She practically climbs a tree to catch a squirrel. It’s nice to have a dog as a trail companion, especially for protection.

        • Yep, your granddog behaves like Vader. He hates squirrels. We have one that waits on the fence for him every day. I am not sure if our dog is fun or perhaps the squirrel makes sure the dogs get their exercise in. 🙂
