Lovely stone work… sad to think it is likely a child’s grave. Wonderful capture!

  2. The soft image of the cross in the background creates a powerful image with the angel in the foreground. 🙂

This is a lovely photo. It reminded me immediately of my childhood. The city cemetery in the town I grew up in was very old, very full & had lots of beautiful head stones. As a child I loved to look at the angels, cherubs & various characters on some of the headstones. Lots of them were on the graves of children, which might have terrified me had that been my focus but my focus was angels. If the adults I was at the cemetery with had stayed longer I would have stayed for hours just looking at the angels. Much like some little boys are fascinated by dinosaurs, my fascination was angels & especially those carved in granite & concrete in that old cemetery.

    • I love older cemeteries, especially the ones in Europe. So much craftsman ship in the headstones and sculptures. So much history to be shared. That’s ‘food’ for a post.

  4. See the crook on her arm? Notice she’s not supporting the hand on her cheek, she’s wiping a tear. She’s lost one of her sheep. It must be a child’s grave.
