I didn’t know what it was. The tail gave it away, but I wasn’t sure. Lots of fur on this rat. Sure enough. It’s a river rat. Maybe it’s just me, but I think it looks cute.

This creature is actually a Nutria. They are native to South America and invasive in the US. I always think of them as the Rodents of Unusual Size from the Princess Bride 😊
