It’s a swinger squirrel. It sits in the feeder that is supposed to hold the seed blocks for the birds.
The manufacturer left the top open for easy access for refills. I am not sure if they thought it all through. Our house squirrel, the ninja, looks quite comfortable, munching on the bird food—or what’s left of it.
I am standing behind our sliding glass door. It sees me, but doesn’t move. I guess I am harmless.

He does look comfortable. What a clever little fellow. Maybe a couple of zip ties or twisted wire you put across in two places would keep him out. Or… a old bracelet to use over and over again to reduce waste could block entry. A marvelous picture though!
Wonderful
I must say the most fun animals and birds seem to find your garden to play around . . . this is hilarious 🙂 !
It made me laugh too. Squirrels are clowns and very determined. How can you be mad at them when you have to look at that?
Oh my word that is hilarious! The raccoons would have a field day with that at my house…. I have to make sure they are securely tied to whatever they are hanging from and can’t be opened….. or else they will “disappear”, basket and all! LOL!!
Well, we don’t have raccoons (knock on wood) but the squirrels transport the cages and feeders as well. It’s their form of hide-and-seek.
