These eyes
The trust, the love, the bond—
so fresh, so fragile,
so strong already.
I stand on a pedestal,
not by choice, but have been put there
by this wonderful creature
who made me her universe.
A responsibility I don’t take lightly.
Luna is my flower girl now.
She will wear them on her collar,
so the world will look at her with kindness.
It’s a breed-softener.
A sign. Asking a judgemental society
to judge this one dog
and not one for all.
A brindle Staffy mix.
She is the happiest puppy I have ever seen;
all 22 pounds of her.
Luna is twelve weeks old today.
A wiggly butt with donkey ears.
We lost our renters insurance
because they aren’t progressive enough.
We switched companies.
We pay less now.
Oh, the stigmas and the labels
Given without knowledge
Repeating hearsay, without facts.
We hit the jackpot.
So did she.

Your ode to Luna is sweet, and her floral pink collar is the perfect “outfit” for her. 🙂
Ah, there’s nothing like the love of a puppy. This one melts my heart! <3
She is so cute and sweet. This poem is lovely.
Thank you, Kymber. Luna, is a very sweet girl.
so precious. Happy 12-week birthday Luna. You wear those flowers well. may everyone who sees you just see the joy and love inside of you. may you two – and the rest of your pack – have a long path of love together.
I found these flowers by accident, we have four different color strips, from light pink to lavender and it’s fun to see how people react. Thank you for all your kind well-wishes. We’ll try to do our best.
She’s a cutie
Thank you, Sheree.
Awww. 12 weeks of joy in many more to come
The sleepless nights are over. Now the real joy can begin (typing it with a smile). She is a handful, but very sweet.
Wonderful! She is beautiful.
She is a breed we are not familiar with, even though she is a mixed breed puppy. She has all characteristics and the personality of a Staffy puppy. This is going to be a learning experience. Thank you, Dawn.
Happy,, happy, happy Birthday, beautiful girl . . . I can see from your eyes you do know you hit the jackpot and won the lottery to last all your days . . . lucky Princess Naughty Sweetness!
Thank you, Eha. “Naughty Sweetness” is the perfect description. Spot on!
I love this. Happy 12-week birthday, Luna!
Thank you, Darlene. I can’t help but sharing her small—and big—milestones.
