The other night I went through my newsfeed and came across a message that stood out. “I had fried chicken tonight, my favorite food. I feel bad about it. Please pray for me.”

“Someone is going to die,” he said and when I followed his gaze, I saw a crow had landed in the tree right in front of his office window. Only one bird. It sat still, looked in our direction, almost like it was watching us through the glass. It was the time of the year when the trees were leafless beauties, nothing blogged our view.
For the bus driver on his shift who left and never came back.
For the nurse who beat breast cancer but not Covid.

The Presbyterian Church called a meeting to decide what to do about their squirrels. After much prayer and consideration, they determined the squirrels were predestined to be there and they shouldn’t interfere with God’s divine will.
Regardless if one prays or not, this prayer -written by an abbess- is a must read for all of us, who are getting older (and older).
