Yeah well, I didn’t go to Yale, I went to UConn, and pretty much flunked out of there, spent years homeless, spent years living in and out of homeless shelters, but the fact is what I learned in that journey was far, far more important than anything I could have possibly learned at UConn or Yale or gosh, Harvard. None of us had anyone hand us $300 million. I rubbed shoulders with a lot of men and women who lost it all, who had no shot at much of anything, but still, day by day, they obeyed the law, did what they could to earn some cash to keep it together for their families. Life at the bottom isn’t about honors or law school plans, it is about living simply and so near the ground one can pretty much hear the worms. Humiliation is what life is about in Trump’s world, but humility, that is the greatest lesson learned at the bottom of the pile. We are all the same, we human beings, no one is above or below. That, and try and make a friend or two along the way, you never know when you might need someone to bail you out…

Lent was a big deal in our Catholic boarding school. 40 days of fasting was the motto, which didn’t bother us too much, we were used to it. Boarding school food is a bit like hospital food, and fasting comes naturally.
For the wife
Who says it’s hot dogs tonight
Because she is home with me
And not out with someone else.

I own an invisible poke stick; it gives me the power to hit a special nerve in people whenever I chose to do so. I have the ability to piss people off with just one remark or a short sentence. It’s a gift or a curse -depends on how you look at it.

I miss our religious leaders to condemn what happened in Charlottesville. I want to hear them condemn racism, hate and white supremacy. I want to hear an uproar from the smallest church up to the biggest cathedral. I want them to condemn racism, hate, and bigotry once and for all.

They knock at my door -uninvited
they never respect my privacy.
No soliciting I say and point to the sign
hoping they will understand and go away.

The Presbyterian Church called a meeting to decide what to do about their squirrels. After much prayer and consideration, they determined the squirrels were predestined to be there and they shouldn’t interfere with God’s divine will.

Being an emperor or an empress for a day, think about all the wonderful things one could do -all the rules and regulation one could change. I would make radical changes, changes that might even anger a few.

“Where do animals go?” That was one of the main questions I asked when I was a child, “Do they go to heaven too?”
