Today
It will be the first day on this Earth for many
they will celebrate this day for years.
Others will die today and will be remembered
by people who will be shedding tears.

There will be parties in many houses
there will be laughter and special treats,
while others will lose their home
and will wander alone in the streets.

Many will go to the doctor today
with the hope to be cured and healed.
Some will go home with bad news
fearing their fate might be sealed.
. . .
Sadness and joy walk beside laughter and tears
not just today, but for all days to come.
Today is a special day for so many
but just another day for some.
Very beautiful, very eloquent, very touching. I particularly love the ending, although I suspect it might be the other way around … a special day to some, but just an ordinary day to most 🙂
I was drawn initially to the water effect (I’ve used it before and I really love it 🙂 ) but there’s a lot of truth in this.
Not sure how I feel about that poem. It so states the obvious and is hot and cold. Hm… Lof that gif, btw.
