The first thing I saw as his beard, the second thing I saw was his eyes. Overall, he’s a man. Just a man.

I see another human. I’m not terribly ‘deep’ so I don’t (try not to anyway) project my feelings about what they are feeling onto the individual. And I’m rather ashamed, but if I were an airplane, that guy would probably make me a little uncomfortable. Isn’t that sad? I’m sure he’s just trying to get through another day, just like I am. I wonder if people more like him look at those like me and think the same uncomfortable thoughts or if they too just think we’re trying to get through another day…

    • You were the only one who was honest about feeling discomfort as well.

Why lie? I wouldn’t EVER say anything about it, but I bet they know. The last time I flew, some Arab people (the long white head gear with the bandana/ribbon thing around it, got on. More than one person was squirming. I find that a sad commentary on how life in America is today. 🙁

I see a man who looks tired, perhaps after a hard day at work or just because it’s hot where he is. I could possibly write a short story about this man.
