Learn child they said and so I did
knowledge is the key,
the more you know, the better it is
and I believed them.
I studied hard and learned a lot,
read books and wrote essays.
Where do we come from,
how does the world work
so much to know, so little time.
The more I learn, the less I seem to know
the questions never stop.
Perhaps knowledge is just an illusion
and what I should seek, is understanding instead.

love this Bridget- understanding is the key I believe
Very nice poem. For me learning inspires creativity and a desire to adventure out of my comfort zone.
Lovely poem, Bridget. This reminded me of a Socrates quote: “The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” By accepting how little we know, we are open to endless wonder.
Learning makes you desire to know more , so makes you curious ….
Curiosity prevents you to grow old ….
(in your mind , at least!)
Loving my teens when they are a pain and a painful reminder of me as a teen is a tremendous challenge. But I’ll continue in my very messy and imperfect way.
Perhaps the joy of learning is never fully knowing…so we continue to be amazed by the discovery.
I like that, I like that a lot. Let me just say I am very amazed these days. 🙂
