A bleak, uncertain future
Leaves us feeling numb.
I have a love-hate relationship with Wikipedia and deal with it in the same, almost insane way I deal with Amazon. I use it because it’s convenient, I trust neither. Both companies (or services) give me for a short time the illusion that they actually might care about me, the paying customer, or in Wikipedia’s case, the frugal donor, who dares to only give them the $1 they actually asked for. Come to think of it, perhaps it’s not so much a donation, but the tip I am willing to pay for a flawed service.
I never wanted an Alexa or a Siri, they come with our phones and with Amazon Fire TV, yet they have be shunned by us to live in silence, waiting forever to hear our voice allowing them to come to live, doomed to wait for whatever short-lived life they -and we- might have.
I never thought I would write that, but i bow with awe. Brilliant move. The President of the United Stated did not lie -as we all expected- but instead just downplayed the Covid-19 situation to keep us calm. How considerate of him. Very well played Mr. President!
Good grief, did I just say the “S” word? Socialism?
Sitting here on my desk, I assume lightning will strike me any moment -or perhaps I mixed things up -again -and enlightenment will punch me in the face instead. (Don’t you write about socialism, don’t you do it!)

“We didn’t know.” That’s the statement I often got when I asked about Hitler. Just the ones who had helped or resisted, those were the ones who apparently had known. People like my Grandfather, who was held as a political prisoner in a concentration camp, he knew, he had seen it.
A very good friend of mine lives in the South -that’s where we met years ago- and I know as a fact that she voted and believes in Donald Trump. She is a diehard conservative, and over the years we were able to block it out. We didn’t talk about politics at all, it was the elephant in the room, that we never mentioned.
