The first time I saw it, I almost rear-ended the car in front of me. Who would expect a gigantic basket on the side of the highway?

My morning turned out great! An older man, sadly I can not call him a gentleman because he was all but gentle, called me. He had found my business number online, which he explained to me later. But first, he came straight to the point. With a hoarse voice, and without wasting any time on manners or nonsense like saying ‘Hello’ he told me he had a cigarette burn in his couch and he wanted me to come by and fix it.

“Don’t ever smoke,” that was the warning I got from my doctor when I was just a little girl. He had come on a house visit to our farm, I had been sent home sick with bronchitis -again. Ever since I can remember, I came down with a severe upper respiratory infection and/or bronchitis at least once a year. Three times that I know off, it turned into pneumonia.
A competitor is better than me. I am not sure how it happened, but all of a sudden he attracts the customers and while I am still busy -he is busier.
I don’t like the situation, wish I could do better, but it seems I am at my limit.
What to do? What to do?

Hillary Clinton said the following in 2016, which many believed labeling some of the Trump supporters as deplorables, cost her the win. Personally, I thought this part of her speech was arrogant and highly stupid -but not untrue:
Yesterday in the afternoon the phone rang. I answered, as usual having my phone on the phone stand on speaker, so I can continue typing, working, or playing, while talking to whoever is on the other line at the same time. Multitasking, a task I should have given up years ago.
A gentlemen round around my age -give or take a few years- wanted to know if I could help him, he had an odd request. Don’t they all?

Every year in November I drive to the Christmas warehouse and I make sure that the trees, wreaths and Christmas decorations are ready for pickup.
A storage facility full of decorated Christmas trees, carefully wrapped in plastic, just waiting to show their artificial beauty in the malls and stores through the Holiday Season. I have the key to one of the warehouses and I am responsible for about 50 trees.

I never thought I would write that, but i bow with awe. Brilliant move. The President of the United Stated did not lie -as we all expected- but instead just downplayed the Covid-19 situation to keep us calm. How considerate of him. Very well played Mr. President!

A lady walked into my workroom. I had been waiting on her, she had made an appointment a few days earlier. I stood behind my work surface, which puts automatically the required social distance in place. I wore my elephant mask with pride, while she wore nothing to protect herself -or me.
