When you write, you let it all go; when you publish, you set yourself free. You wish for your book to get wings and fly into the homes (and tablets) of many:

…
I’m Cry, beloved country,
For what we fear will come.
A bleak, uncertain future
Leaves us feeling numb.

…
What does the world look like to you?
Is it big, is it small and do you feel big or little?
Are you sometimes afraid?
Does it sometimes hurt you, this small or big world?

…
Is it the world’s goal to overwhelm me?
If so, world, then you have succeeded.
I am officially drained, overpowered by life.

I recently read a quote from the actor Denzel Washington, which most likely does not come from him at all. It doesn’t matter who said or wrote that, but he or she speaks from my heart. “With so many things coming back in style, I can’t wait until morals, respect, and intelligence become a trend again.”
Before you know what kindness really is
you must lose things,
feel the future dissolve in a moment
like salt in a weakened broth.

How much nicer it is to watch certain TV events without a live audience. Yesterday’s DNC 2020 (Democratic National Convention) was a good example.
