It’s actually a woodpecker. She often visits the pine trees in the back of our house. Turns out woodpeckers love ants and she found an ant pile that had popped up in our yard, that’s when I got the shot. She has ants on her beak. The bird is a ‘Northern Flicker’.
Wow!! great pic!
Wow! Really stunning.
Thank you.
No problem ☺️
[…] Wordless Wednesday […]
Bridget this is an astounding photo!! <3
There you are! I was wondering if you were ok. Thank you for commenting on my lucky shot. 🙂
I have been absorbed with school things, going part time next year- always drama at work!!
Wow, that’s a big step toward retirement. I am happy for you! Sorry you had to deal with all the drama.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Wow! 😍❤️🙏
In the preview that looked like a gazelle wearing leopard print socks… Only after opening the post I saw it was a bird.
Oh great, now I won’t be able to get the image out of my mind.
It’s still burnt onto my retina as well… Sorry for that
This is a fantastic close-up of what appears to be a polka dot woodpecker (I looked it up!). Thanks for sharing, Bridget. 🙂
Excellent portrait
Thank you, Derrick.

Yes it is.
Wow! What a great picture.
Thank you, Darlene. It was eating ants and posed for me -or I disturbed it.
