During a break on a hiking tour, this pretty boy landed on one of the backpacks.
He climbed all over, looked at the humans with curiosity, but quickly decided the backpack was much more interesting.
A call at the closest police station quickly verified that the blue-and-yellow macaw had escaped through an open window and was terribly missed by his owners. He was called “Lost Boy” for the time being.

The coordinates given by Google Maps with just one click (scary and helpful) gave our position and a short while later animal control came by, and the ‘Lost Boy’ was reunited with his family an hour later.
A very impressive and beautiful parrot. Tame and very talkative. It was certainly a surprise and worth the long break while hiking.

I guess you have a ‘talon’ for finding lost parrots! 🦜
A beautiful boy! I love a happy ending, especially with lost pets.
I love happy pet endings too.
What a beautiful bird!
What a lovely surprise
A timely phone call and lovely photos
Oh wow! What a colorful and beautiful surprise visitor!
And a beautiful Lost Boy he is! I am so glad he was reunited with his worried people and I’m sure they’re very grateful for your quick thinking and action! A happy story!
WOW!!! Stunning and beautiful display of colors on that parrot. I love parrots. Although, never had the opportunity to own one. Love the photography photos! Great shot!
A good outcome and a hike you will always remember. Parrots are definitely inquisitive. The Keas of New Zealand will eat the rubber gasket from around your car windows and any bicycle seat nearby. Happy Tuesday Bridget. Allan
Wow!
How delightful
That would certainly brighten up anyone’s day!
They are so pretty and they seem to be nosey and noisy by nature
I know a few humans like that, less the pretty!
Goodness, so do I 🙂 Too funny!
