During the night the land had cooled down, and now Earth was waiting for the sun to fully arise. No ripple in the water, no insects flying, not a cloud in the sky.
So still, so serene, beautiful as only nature can be. The end of summer in all its beauty. Early in the morning ground fog covers everything underneath like a blanket.
Only a short while later, at the same spot, the sun shines through. What a difference it made.

Great results from waiting… gorgeous!
Gorgeous!
Delightful use of ten minutes
What a treat for the sense, Bridget. Thank you! 🥰
*senses, that is!
Interesting comparison, Bridget. 🙂
Wow, I agree. This morning, I looked outside to see mist, and not 20 minutes later, it was completely gone.
I’ve been staring out the window over the moors each morning lately. A very similar experience. Every September, it’s almost like the flip of a switch. The morning fog arrives, but the morning sun still has the strength to suppress it as the morning progresses. Not long before it will lose that strength. Winter is coming. But I’ve come to appreciate winter in Oberbayern. I’m also looking forward to it!
Light is one thing you can never take for granted. If you see something that would make a spectacular photo you have to take it because the light will change so fast. Love your images!
This is so beautifully said. And, how I long to be there at that spot. 🙂 🌺
A beautiful sunrise! ❤️
Oh, YES! This is all about timing!
Love your photos…fog and the light that shines through it is always beautiful!
A beautiful interlude for everything to regroup. Have a great Monday. Allan
