A Coffin — is a small Domain,
Yet able to contain
A Citizen of Paradise
In it diminished Plane.
A Grave — is a restricted Breadth —
Yet ampler than the Sun —
And all the Seas He populates
And Lands He looks upon
To Him who on its small Repose
Bestows a single Friend —
Circumference without Relief —
Or Estimate — or End —
A Coffin – Is A Small Domain
by Emily Dickinson

Beautiful words. Trust Emily.
I thought so too.
A lovely tribute to a simple , humble & phenomenal man. He was the best of what is known as a human being
He will be missed and I hope this week conclave will be aware of it.
And I feel like we have to apologize to the world for the lack of feeling, understanding of protocol & extremely poor taste of the US president & his display of himself on social media dressed as the Pope. And also the GOP for allowing him to do that. Sigh …
A lovely and loving memory . . .
Thank you, Eha.
That poem is so beautiful!
I agree, Peter.
His death makes me sad but his life was a gift to us all.
That’s a wonderful statement.
Beautiful, thanks!
I am glad you liked it, Martina.
