What a gorgeous bird! Easy to hear in the woods, harder to find.

    • They seem to love pine trees. They are everywhere, at least here where we live.

I hope they are tucked tightly into their nest for this bitter cold that is coming. Stay warm, my friend!

    • The woodpeckers live in our yard. We have high pine trees, in between the yard,s and of ocourse I bribe them with extra nutty treats in the bird feeders. :_

Wow. I have not seen a bird marked like that. Is it a woodpecker? It’s kind of like our Downy woodpeckers, but those just have a red spot on their head, I don’t think they’re all red like that underneath.

    • We have three different kinds of woodpeckers. They all have similar markings at first glance but are so different. I haven’t looked it up and I don’t know the difference between a female bird and male wood pecker. I need to fix that.

    • I am not a Dolly Parton fan (or don’t like country), but I like this song too. 🙂

Was the bird singing a Dolly Parton song?

        • “Coats of many colors” is a Dolly Parton Song 🙂 I thought you referred to it. Sorry, my mistake.
