It’s too cold to go for an early walk. -2F in the morning, I am staying inside in the warm house, we are waiting for the snowstorm that will come through later on.
My husband surprised me with a Birdyfy feeder for Christmas. According to him, my face showed amazement and pure joy when I unwrapped my present.
The birdfeeder with a camera brings so much happiness into my life. I knew we had many different birds in our area, but I didn’t expect this visitor.
I have seen the European Starlings on my walks, but never in our yard. Perhaps the birds knew I wouldn’t leave the house for a few days, and that’s when they came visiting me?
It’s the first Starling in our backyard (that I am aware of).
I thought today, instead of the ‘Photo of the Day’, I would share the birdyfy clips.
Watching the ‘collected bird moments’ on my phone every day is a very special treat. Of course, we are being robbed by house sparrows, but many other birds stop by as well, and they enjoy the nuts and mealworm-enriched bird food. Cardinals, Titmice, Wrens, Nuthatches, Woodpeckers, Chicadees, Juncos, Blue Jays, Robins, Finches and Cowbirds. Just the Bluebird and the Flicker haven’t vistited our new feeder yet. I can’t wait to welcome them as well. I do hope they show up.

And then there is the early bird, catching the worm every morning, while all others are still sleeping. He starts eating at 6 am and never comes by during the day.

This is so much fun. I just had to share!

Awesome! I think these feeders with cameras are one of the greatest inventions. I do not have one, as the squirrels seem to eat 85% of the seed and scare away the birds. They do seem to take a pretty clear shot though, I am impressed. Maybe a winged Wednesday could be an opportunity for you to share some of your visitors with us. A wonderful gift you got and shared with us!
I hope it’s not too desperately cold. He looks puffed up ready for the storm
It is brutal cold. 17F during the day -1F in the night.
What a fabulous gift. One that keeps on giving!
Thanks for sharing these fabulous videos, Bridget. We are all bird watchers in my family. The Birdyfy would make a lovely gift. 🙂
That is lovely to watch. What fun. I would enjoy this too. 😊
Gurllll I got one too! haha!! My daughter was stoked to give me this! It’s rather addicting for sure!
So sweet! 💝
What a neat gift. Yes, please show some more. Many surprises yet to appear.
I am afraid I might just do that. It doesn’t get old. 🙂
So fun. I think my husband would really enjoy this. I would too. Your early bird is a wren. They dont stoo by here very often, but its really cold today and I just saw a wren on the finch feeder.
Wrens are early birds. I didn’t know this until we got the camera. The earliest was 5 am when they showed up, way before all the other birds. Cardinals are evening snackers, which I didn’t know either. I love watching the clips. Sometimes they fight, which is also interesting to watch. One of the smaller sparrows decided to take a nap in the feeding hole. It upset the other birds lol. I am you both would enjoy it very much. BTW we got a heated birdbath. It was under $40 at Walmart and the birds and squirrels love it. So much joy!
Our heated birdbath is a big hit…though I have to fill it pretty regularly. I can tell when it’s empty because the birds are standing in it staring at the house.
LOL
that is so awesomely cool – thanks for sharing
Thank you.
