Meet ‘One Toe,’ pronounced ‘Wontow,’ which sounds a bit like she is part of a native American tribe, and perhaps that’s ok, after all; she is probably more native than most of us ever will be. Her little human play buddies gave her the nickname, and it’s growing on me. The name makes sense. She has one white toenail on her right foot, and only the tip of the toe is white? Like she stepped by accident in white paint, but drew back her foot just in time.
They kinds (10 and 5) love her, and Luna loves the kids. When I watch her play with them, I can’t help but feel very, very guilty. Now she is stuck with an older couple, an old dog (Patches, 11), and our Vader (4 already), who has only two speeds: fast and furious or naptime.
The kids are Luna’s sedative. 1 hr play = six hours deep sleep afterward. Works like a charm—works on our older dogs too, which is a nice side effect.
Luna’s eye color has set in, and her iris is now clear. Yesterday was her 8-week birthday, so we are set for the vet tomorrow. Sunday at 3:30 pm. It’s weigh-in time. I can’t wait.
The first picture shows Luna’s first real “sit”. Vader helped. She didn’t know what to do, and he sat down beside her. Thank you, Vader.

Cuddling with my husband. He doesn’t stand a chance, and he knows it—so do I. She already knows the rules: human daddy is for playtime, you can do what you want, as long as you look and act cute, and human mom is serious business; that’s the person whose chair you want to run to if you hear thunder or anything else scares you. Also, she seems to have the power over the good stuff that goes into the bowls.
Wontow—now how am I going to get this out of my head?
I will try to behave and post about Luna ‘only’ once a week, with updates on how she is growing.

So cute!!
Thank you, John. Have a great weekend.
