“Money can’t by happiness” was one of the sayings I learned when I grew up. It’s a universal saying in almost every language and I believed it. Do we need money to be happy? No, of course not. Does is mean everybody without money is automatically happy? Does it mean poverty makes us happy? No, it doesn’t either.
Happiness is not a life without problems, but rather the strength to overcome the problems that come our way. There is no such thing as a problem-free life; difficulties are unavoidable. But how we experience and react to our problems depends on us.
Happiness is a mindset. True happiness is to be found within, in the state of our hearts. It does not exist on the far side of some distant mountains, it is within us. However much we try, we can never run away from our self. And if we are weak, suffering will follow us wherever we go. We will never find happiness, if we don’t challenge your weaknesses and change ourselves from within.
An Asian proverb says “Money isn’t everything, but without money, you can do nothing,” how true!
Helping others, a good meal, warm clothes, a cozy bed, music, books and presents for the ones we love, nothing comes for free. Even charity work and giving to people in need cost money. So can money buy happiness?
I believe it can, at least in parts, because it can help us to overcome our every day problems. I believe it all depends on how we spend our money.
Doubters Alert
What commonly accepted truth (or “truth”) do you think is wrong, or at least seriously doubt? Why?

I know money can’t buy you happiness, but I’d sure like to be able to find that out for myself!!! Just for a little while? 😀
Me too, me too 🙂
” if money can’t bring you happiness , certainly not can poverty!”
TOTALLY agree with you under any aspect and specially appreciate the quote , printed on the photo!
Glad you liked the quote.
I agree!
Yes, Happiness is the mindset and I totally agree with you.
Thank you and thank you for stopping by.
Happiness lies not in having what you want, but in wanting what you have. Another proverb… one I’ve always liked. 🙂
I like it~!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Money can’t buy happiness and there are plenty of miserable rich people. But it sure can buy a much higher quality of misery. I think I’d like to be miserable in a Porsche.
Some will never be happy, no matter what they have. I think there are different kind of happiness. The one you can’t buy, like looking at someone you love and the happiness you feel when you are able to help someone in need with material things.
Excellent “Doubters Alert” choice. Hugs
Hugging you right back pretty Lady 🙂
Agreed across the board! http://judydykstrabrown.com/2015/09/07/youre-so-lucky/
