Years ago I decided that our refrigerator was just too cluttered, and I asked Santa if he could bring my husband a man-cave fridge. A small icebox, just for beer and water – a dream come true during football season. It was a present for both of us, I got more room in the fridge, and he got his long talked about beer-fridge.
Finally, the beverages were out of the way, and I had room for all my veggies and fruits and could organize our fridge. Funny how it works, you clean and you make more room, and then somehow, you end being cluttered just the way you were before. Containers with food left and right -nothing gets thrown out in our house before Friday.
The other day I made meatloaf and later on that evening I tried to find room for the pot, but of course, there was no space left in the fridge. Meatloaf never survives in our house, my husband eats it warm and then uses the rest for lunch sandwiches the next day. It’s his favorite food.
The next day he called me first thing in the morning.
“Honey, what did you do with the meatloaf?”
“It’s in the fridge.” (What a question)
“I didn’t find it, I looked everywhere.”
“Hm, not sure. I will call you when I am back over at the house.”
I opened the fridge and couldn’t find it either. I tried to recall what I did with it and then it hit me.
Beer fridge, of course, dah!
I took a picture and texted it to my husband.

There was silence, then came his reply.

Wow this made me laugh! You have gained a follower in hopes of you following my blog !!
I don’t believe in the blogging back scratching politics.
Ok well sorry to offend you . But i started following your blog because of your witty writing !
And I appreciate it. But don’t follow automatically back because it just doesn’t make any sense. I will check your blog out and if I like it, then I will follow you, if not then I won’t.
Asking to be followed is a rookie mistake and while it’s understandable, it’s a big turn off. If you are good you don’t have to ask for followers, they will come automatically.
Ok your right ! And my mistake I’m still new here that all I wanted to say . I may have went about it the wrong way and I appreciate your words . Thanks !
Haha your right you end up with more clutter!
Ha! Pretty soon you will have to buy ANOTHER fridge for the beer and water! Crazy how the more space we have the more we need!
I don’t understand it, it’s just the two of us. It’s like we prepare to hibernate.
Left overs can take up a lot of room! To me, they are worth it!
hahaha!! I could relate to this one 😃
I too longed for a 2nd fridge. FINALLY I got one downstairs where the beer and wine resides, but over time, it has slowly started to become my *overflow* fridge. Gilles and I have also had versions of this conversation! It’s reached the point where he’s no longer surprised 😏
I assume the next time (and there will be a next time) he won’t be surprised either. 🙂
Yeah, he will be 🙂
LOL LOL
Oh how this made me laugh (and I love that the text message is from ‘Sweetheart’) ❤️
He is -and always will be- my Sweetheart, nothing has changed, it will be 34 years next y ear. 🙂
That makes my heart smile 🙂
Good, then mine is smiling as well,
I love this- too funny!!
We turn into Edith and Archie Bunker 🙂
Unexpected leftovers are awesome. Food matters!
So true. Food matters!
It beats “Your dinner’s in the dog!”
They wouldn’t dare. They are spoiled rotten but also well trained. We have three dogs, it would be chaos otherwise.
