All year long, people like me collect gently used bras and feminine hygiene products, shampoos, and toothbrushes and during the holiday season, in every town, village, and subdivision, there are Santa’s helpers making sure that the most essential needs are not forgotten.
Today I would like to show you some of the helpers.
During the most busy, crazy, hectic time of year, many women get together with their ‘sisters’ and create the most stunning evening to celebrate with their friends!
A lady invited her friends and neighbors to a Christmas party. A nice place, a buffet full of delicious food and sweets. And they all came.
…

…
But she added a twist and once again her friends were fully ‘in’ with the giving and were generous in their donations. If I’ve learned anything over the years, it’s that there really are decent, kind, caring people out in this world.

Their Christmas presents for others in need. Diapers, feminine hygiene products, bras and underwear and so much more.
Meet Mrs. Santa, who got together with some of her friends from the HOPE task force this holiday season. Starting at 10 am, they gave out free food and toys

When the toilet paper runs out, and the shampoo bottle has been thinned down to the last drop, buying tampons is the last item on the shopping list.
We can help so that Lucy and others like her feel human again.

Christmas Cheers and Jingle Bells galore! A sleigh-load of gratitude so many made this year’s Big Dog Jingle 5K Run a festive success and supported Girls Inc.

People everywhere get involved, helping, and giving.
Because if we do and just help a little, we make life so much easier for so many.

…
Not just around Christmas but throughout the year.
If you want to get involved and help women and girls, you might want to look up www.isupportthegirls.org but I warn you, if you do it will change your life.

Between a family member in ICU and another with stage 4 cancer my giving has been very close to home this year. This is a very good cause too though. I just wish I could win the lottery and help more people sometimes!
You don’t need to win the lottery. I just emailed everybody I knew, printed flyers and gave it to all my customers and neighbors. I went to Nextdoor (which I hate) and let people know about the cause and the donation bin. That’s how it started.
Is Nextdoor an app or a business in your area? I have heard of Good Neighbor, but not Nextdoor.
Nextdoor is a neighborhood community app in the US and it’s everywhere. It started out pretty solid but quickly turned into another version of Facebook.
This is such an inspiring and heartwarming project, well done! This is the real spirit of love at Christmas time xx
This is truly inspirational.
LOVE this. Thanks for sharing such an uplifting and important post Bridget! <3
That’s great, and there is always a need–the cost of basic hygiene products including tampons has gotten outrageous. Good for those who help and take part!

Thank you, Cindy. Merry Christmas
Lucy’d letter spells out the necessity of this valuable project
Letter like Lucy’s shine the spotlight on the things we don’t hear to often about. There is lots of poverty around us.

A great post and a great cause. For all those who can’t think of the perfect gift for a special someone, give a gift to someone less fortunate. Merry Christmas. Allan
I stumbled into http://www.isupportthegirls.org during COVID, when I was asked to sew facemasks. When they asked me if I could help bringing them to shelters, that’s when I learned that a simple brassier can be a luxury item, many cannot afford. Ever since I have a donation bin in front of my workroom and everybody knows about it. It stays never empty. Bras, feminine products, hygiene products, new socks and underwear, you name it. I couldn’t do it alone, it’s the people donating that do it all, I just provide the bin.
