Our radio stations are playing Christmas music 24/7 and they don’t seem to have a wide variety of CD’s, because they repeat the same songs over and over. Maybe they play it safe and everything unusual stays in the shelf, because they fear it would startle some of their listeners.
I know its a few years old and by now everybody might have seen it. But then you never know, maybe I am not the only who crawls under a rock once in a while.

I had grown up with different traditions and I was looking forward to our first American Christmas together. It was in the 80’s and we had just gotten married a few months earlier. It was my first Christmas in America –in my new home- with the man I loved.
There I was in my workshop, still trying to finish up everything on time, when I thought that listening to a Christmas movie might finally help me to find the Christmas spirit….somewhere.
How about a Christmas Challenge, maybe I will find my missing Christmas spirit somewhere in between reading and posting. 🙂
Christmas and Hanukkah parties are fun. Lots of good food in the company of people you (hopefully) like. However, here are some guidelines, so you will be able to get the most out of every Holiday party:

I found this poem on my search for Christmas spirit. It got to me, so I thought I share it with all of you.
I am not sure what exactly happened this year, but I have no Christmas spirit. We are not religious, but like so many, we do celebrate Christmas as a cultural event in our house. By now I should have all the decorations out, the tree should be up, but all of it is still in the attic.
Time is flying lately. It seems like every time I turn around there is another week gone. It was just summer, now it’s fall and I know that once again, I will be surprised by how quickly the Holiday season will be here.
