My morning turned out great! An older man, sadly I can not call him a gentleman because he was all but gentle, called me. He had found my business number online, which he explained to me later. But first, he came straight to the point. With a hoarse voice, and without wasting any time on manners or nonsense like saying ‘Hello’ he told me he had a cigarette burn in his couch and he wanted me to come by and fix it.

I have encountered loyalty in the eyes of other women all around the globe. In dark-colored eyes that are so different from mine. In freckled old faces, and in young wise eyes. Regardless of color, race, and upbringing, there is an understanding that we have for each other. We are the weaker gender, made to be weak not by nature but by man’s law.

What time and place would I travel to if there would be a time machine? My blogging friend Peter, from Peter’s pondering, asked me that question a while back, and as so often, I didn’t have an answer right away. However, I thought I found a clever way out because he had mentioned there would be no return and a one-way ticket in a time machine didn’t seem desirable at all.
The more people I get to know, the more I love being by myself. The more I am by myself, the more questions I have. People have changed and I haven’t changed with them. I am stuck in a past that is long gone, and I find myself wondering where that leaves me.

The dead, the sick were so far away. Many of them in cities I once worked in or studied at, when I was young. I knew the threat was real, and so I stayed home like most of us did.
