My Grandmother and I had THE TALK shortly after my 16 birthday. It was the talk, where she tried to explain to me what being an adult and being a woman meant. I tried to explain to her that I knew it all -or almost all- but she didn’t listen. She made me sit down and then she started talking and I listened.

Just Sharing

I wouldn’t want to see the future. Not my own and not the one of others. What, if I would take a look and the people I love wouldn’t be in it anymore? What, if I would see the future and it would be bad for me, for the ones I love or for all of us? That I would fear more than anything. For me it’s important to keep the hope up. Hope and optimism is part of my nature. If I would be able to glance into the future, I wouldn’t have a reason to hope anymore.

Lets face it, I have been wrong numerous times in my life time. One of my worst prognosis was “there is no way the CD will ever replace the vinyl record” and my all time favorite “we will never be able to afford a computer at home” (both was said by me in the 80’s).
