I have neglected my blog and my blogging friends. I didn’t write much and read even less. I have been busy; tried to juggle too many things all at once, bit off more than I could chew. Whenever life demands my full attention, the virtual world has to be put on hold.

One of our neighbors close by is obsessed with his yard. It is spotless. No weeds could survive the constant care and attention given by the owner. The flowers, the grass, everything is perfect -perhaps too perfect.

Our yard is a mess right now. The weather doesn’t help, it’s cloudy and cold. It had rained all night long, dirt had been washed on the walkways. Everything has turned green already and lots of it are weeds. Every year I pull them all and every year they come back -all of it. It’s a race or a competition, and I am not so sure if I will ever win.

Time to plan my garden for this year. As always we will have lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, squash, onions and of course my beloved kale. There is a corner just for herbs, and another spot is reserved for some newcomers, that we just have to try.
GOD: “Frank, you know all about gardens and nature. What in the world is going on down there on the planet? What happened to the dandelions, violets, milkweeds and stuff I started eons ago? I had a perfect no-maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought and multiply with abandon.
