I love our kitchen, but it’s rather small, and whenever I feel like I cannot live another day without a dishwasher, I look at the cabinet space I would lose and my desire for another appliance flies out of the window.

She is gone. The house is empty; a shiny red realtor’s sign is placed in the yard. She left unnoticed, the neighbors didn’t give her a farewell; no cards or well wishes were exchanged. She lived in this neighborhood for 25 years; everybody knew her, but nobody felt close to her.
Cleaning fairy #3 was a Russian lady, who came from a country which belonged to Russia in the past and now they don’t speak Russian anymore -turned out she didn’t speak much English either. Needless to say, we had some communication problems. She knocked on my door and introduced herself as HOUSECLEANING, what made me feel like a guest in a luxury hotel. “You show me chemicals,” she demanded, and the way she talked to me scared me a bit.
I finally realized the cleaning fairy will never stop by our home and I am left with all there is to do. I am getting older, the house is not getting smaller, and it seems I am constantly running behind. I feel like I spend all of my precious free time cleaning and scrubbing the house, and I am tired of it.
Silver and gold don’t match -that’s the rule, and while it’s mostly true, we all know that I don’t always follow the “rules.”

I love our home and I keep it clean and welcoming. Things are in order, even though my husband doesn’t seem to get the order at all times. I have a junk drawer or two, but that’s about it. I just cleaned out all the closets and cabinets during my annual spring cleaning; there is a bag with donation stuff in the garage and a few boxes are just waiting for the upcoming community garage sale.
What are you a “natural” at doing?
I can see colors that are not there. I can look at a piece of furniture or a room and I can “see” how it should look; it’s like I get a vision. I can talk about painting a room purple and I actually visualize it with everything that’s in it. Hard to explain, but it’s good for my line of work now.
