In the fanciest words, the most unusual descriptions, and the deepest expressions of love, people often rave about their own family members and their own mother, “The most radiant role model, the best friend, the greatest inspiration, and the most unconditional support.”

Memorial Day. The day to honor and mourn the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Brave men and women, who fought for our country.
Not fitting in, is not always a bad thing.
Sometimes we have to be true to ourselves.
Sometimes we just aren’t in the mood.

Sometimes I write from the heart. Today it’s a spontaneous feeling of deep gratitude toward other fellow human beings, the ones we call unsung heroes, the ones I call SILENT HEROES. It takes a very special mood to give this feeling so much space in me to write about it. A tidal wave, but a good one, which repeatedly in the end also forces me into action.

On New Year’s Day a year ago,
I started off the year
by making resolutions
that were probably severe.

He looked at the Santa’s costume, which was displayed right at the front door, and when I saw my husband’s face I knew we would not leave the estate sale without it. It was a nicely made outfit. Red fur jacket, and pants, a matching hat, a black belt which later on would hold a fake belly in place, white gloves, and even gold-colored glasses without the lenses.
