I always respected and admired Pope Francis because he represented and promoted the true values of Christianity, and not power and authority.
Last night, when I saw the 400 lights at the Reflection Pool, I felt sadness and how could I not, knowing that the 400 lights stood for almost 400,000 lost lives. The people we have lost to COVID-19 being mourned publicly for the first time in a year.
“We cleaned his apartment out in the morning before the funeral,” my friend told me and I cannot explain it, but it bothered me.
His brother had just passed away, and he had been out of town for a week to attend the funeral and support his family. I understand that his time there was limited and that a lot had to be done, still, it bothered me.
