I hurt a kid when I was a little girl. I had said some ugly things in anger, and it made me feel bad later that day when I was back at home. The girl had been mean first -that was my excuse- but still I didn’t feel good about it. I shouldn’t have said the things I said.

When I was a just a little girl I had a best friend named  “Dusie.” She knew the dark secrets of my early childhood, back then when I was just a little girl and I still lived with my birth-givers. She was there when I cried and she was there when I laughed and played. She stayed with me when I left my parents house, to live with my Grandmother.

Playing in ice and snow is normal where I come from. We were outside kids and not even snow and freezing temperatures could change that.

We climbed up the mountains with our skies, or went for a sleigh ride on an old inner tube. We build snow walls and ramps and were dreaming of becoming famous ski jumpers, because we all had been born with skies on our feet…so they say.

I read the prompt in the morning and couldn’t come up with anything, I couldn’t think about a toy that was precious or special to me.  I went in my workshop and thought about it some more. All day long during my work I thought about my childhood room, and all kind of precious childhood memories came to my mind and made me smile. Still I didn’t “see” a favorite toy in my memory.
