I heard the same warning when I was a child. Watching too much “Bonanza” or “Star Trek” would make my eyes fall out. A warning, given at a time when we only watched TV at night, perhaps for an hour or two.
Oh, the tales we hear when we are children.

I am often asked what a typical day is like for me. And before the end of December 2020, the answer was clear, at least for the first part of the day.

We have arrived at a place of togetherness, and we now have an understanding. We are one, inseparable. We are beautiful together. We belong together. My scar and I complete each other.

Whenever it rained, I walked funny. I wore my rubber boots with pride. I liked to play in the ditch behind our farm where I caught tadpoles in spring. But when it rained, I clenched my toes inside my boots, in case a worm would accidentally find its way into my shoe. The logic of a child. My grandma let me walk funny, she knew I would grow out of it.

Perhaps I shouldn’t be the one posting this since I am not a mother, but then on the other hand maybe that’s precisely the reason why I should post it because I watched all my friends go through all the different stages. I am a witness, this all is true!
