Just three months ago I watched a documentary about Sinead O’Connor and ever since, my admiration for this strong woman had gone of the chart. Hearing about her passing made me very sad today.
Such a strong woman.

Truth be told I was dragged to the first meeting, it is so not my thing, but then I enjoyed the company and I had such a good time, that I now join the gatherings frequently.

After a diagnosis of an incurable disease, it takes a while until we understand what it actually means. I remember it so well. I knew my lab results would come in that day or the next and when I saw my doctor’s number coming up on my cellphone, I excused myself, grabbed my husband’s car keys, and walked out.
If a good song was enough

I fought with the Greek Gods in school and learned the old Greek language -not by choice but by force at first. It’s getting cold, all signs indicate a storm
There’s only stupid giggling and nagging from the command tower
And a dull grinding sound from the engine.
Rolling and pounding and heavy seas

The bilge pumps leak and the bulkheads are blocked
The hatches are wide open and all alarm bells are ringing.
The waves are crashing six-foot high into the loading bay
And St Elms fires are seen on the bay deck
Yet nobody on board is able to understand the signs!
I dreamt of bright flowers
that blossom in May;
I dreamt of green meadows
and merry bird-calls.

For a long time I wanted to see you again,
my old childhood friend.
There were some things I wanted to tell you
and I knew you would understand.
