First, the song found me. What an interesting melody. The voice and the tempo, are all very distinctive. Then I stumbled over the poem and it spoke to me. I suppose that’s how blogging works sometimes. First, you don’t know what to write about, you want to skip a day or two, and then a post comes together about a subject you didn’t feel about writing -yet you do it anyway because now you just have to.

Happy 4th of July to everybody here in the US. A day for celebration with family and friends. Perhaps a cookout, or a picnic? Our brisket is in the smoker, guarded by our dogs, who successfully stole a few slices the last time we made one. Dogs don’t forget.

People

Not knowing what’s going on in the world is not an option
but watching the news feels more like a daily downer.
It doesn’t inform but gives us another talk show we never asked for.

Israel, oh Israel, how I cried with you when the attack happened.
How I feared for the hostages.

I know the actor’s name…wait I’ll come up with it, he was in the movie…gosh, I can’t recall the title either. I can see the scene in front of my eyes, it’s crystal clear, yet the names are gone…poof…disappeared.
