My Grandmother, the wonderful, wise woman who raised me, was a refugee. She left her home town right at the end of WWI in 1918, when she was 17 years old.

Both of her parents had been killed during the war and there was no place to call home anymore. She left town with her sister Emma, who was just 2 years older.

I would like to say “Thank you”  to everybody who participated in last weeks “Knock, Knock writing challenge. You guys rock! You showed me pictures and artwork that I hadn’t seen before and I loved it all. Not just that, you knew about the artist and the paintings and I enjoyed each and every post. What a great way to get to know each other better.
