My husband hasn’t smoked in 4 months today. 120 days without cigarettes is quite an accomplishment, for someone who used to smoke for 46 years.

“You set the bar pretty high,” he said, and I almost felt sorry for him. I know I did; I quit so easily, I knew right from the start there was no going back.

Life does not always give us the happy ending we hope for, over time we all have to learn to say Goodbye to family and friends who feel like family. We talk back and forth via comments and got to know each other a little bit better. I know this post wasn’t an easy one to write and I am so grateful, that she is willing to share her story and experience with all of us.

Joe Cocker

Joe Cocker, one of my all time favorite singer passed away today, he too lost his battle with lung cancer. Joe Cocker was a British rock-singer with an unforgettable raspy voice. I was very fortunate and saw him once live…years ago at an open air concert.

My Sister-in-law has stage IV lung cancer and right about the time when I celebrated my 5th month of my smoke-free life, she heard her final diagnoses. They gave her only around 5 more month to live. She is just a little bit older and it floored me and everybody else in our family.
