A self-portrait at a retreat brought out the artists in all women. At first a bit hesitant, we quickly had fun and started painting a vision that we don’t often share. How do we see ourselves, not with the eye, but deep inside us?

My first and second attempts to draw and paint were brutal, I stumbled and crushed under my own expectation, the perfection I had in mind didn’t happen. My painting was unclear and ugly. The beautiful scene I had pictured, had become a nightmare on canvas.

This is the apocalypse
A daffodil has poked its head up
from the dirt and opened
sunny arms to bluer skies
yet I am filled with
dark and anxious dread
as theaters close as travel ends and
grocery stores display their empty rows
where toilet paper liquid bleach
and bags of flour stood in upright ranks.

How easy and cheap it can be to decorate an Easter table.
Just open half of the raw eggs in a carton carefully with a spoon or knife -just on top of the egg- the next time you make breakfast. Wash the empty eggshells carefully, let them dry and paint the outside in a shiny metallic color. Gold, pink, blue -whatever you prefer.

A high court
rules over our lives
and is the final judge
in all quarrels, we cannot
solve otherwise.

Today I spent 5 minutes searching under my bed for the socks, that I thought I had to wear when I went to bed last night. I am not really sure how I do it, but I think I pull them off during the night, and then somehow the poor socks fly through the bedroom, and end up at places no sock should be.
