I was listening to the hearing, or should we name it THE GRILLING of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson before the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the same thought came to my mind over and over. “We deserve better!”
On Thursday, the now conservative supreme court in the United States has blocked President Biden’s COVID moratorium, which means Millions of people will now face eviction. I have mixed feelings about it. I once was a landlord. I once was a homeowner. I once came close to being homeless. I once was houseless. I lost it all, not just once but three times. (Yes, I promise, will start writing about it.)
I am angry. Very very angry.
Like the rest of the nation, I am watching the Kavanaugh hearing, and I can only do it in small dosages to prevent my head from exploding.
A high court
rules over our lives
and is the final judge
in all quarrels, we cannot
solve otherwise.
While we are awaiting the announcement of a new conservative supreme court judge, and with the fate of Roe v. Wade hanging in the balance, I once again started my own research. I am a woman. I have seen and heard a lot throughout the years and women’s rights are dear to me -always have been, always will be. I am a woman of all ages and I speak up for women of all ages.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a Colorado baker has the legal right to refuse to make a wedding cake for a gay couple, because of his own religious objections to same-sex marriage and I understand the ruling -what might come as a surprise to many of you.
“I refuse to serve ______________ (please fill in, examples beyond *) because it’s against my believe and my faith.”
*Suggestions: Jews/Gays/Transgender/Black/Muslims/Latinos/Women etc.
Ohio passed a bill last night, a bill that would drastically change the abortion rights. It is called the HEARTBEAT BILL but I would recommend to rename it to HEARTBREAK BILL instead.
…and who is going to win? Has this country gone mad? I am sickened about what is going on in Kentucky, it makes me shake my head in disbelieve. I feel like we are thrown back into middle age believes, at least part of the country.
