I have to admit I always click on promotional articles but never really read them. I fast-read, get bits and pieces and move on to greener pastures. Today however I lingered.

Many years back -not sure how many and I don’t want to think about it right now because it makes me feel old(er)- I attended a weekend seminar. I had been saving my money, and time for this adventure, and I wasn’t the only one. Everybody seemed excited about the topics, the speakers and our surroundings.

You think you would get at least a break Sunday in the morning and perhaps I would have, but I was not smart enough and turned on the TV. The channel was set at NBC and so I listened to MEET THE PRESS, a show I normally like.
I love my smartphone but often wonder about the misuse of my data. So much about me can be known, just by looking at my apps. There is a lady who likes music and listens to books. Sometimes she has trouble sleeping, and she uses relaxation sounds and noises to lull her back into the dreamland.

“As a white man,” Joe begins, prefacing an insight, revelation, objection or confirmation he’s eager to share — but let’s stop him right there. “I refuse to serve ______________ (please fill in, examples beyond *) because it’s against my believe and my faith.”

“We didn’t know.” That’s the statement I often got when I asked about Hitler. Just the ones who had helped or resisted, those were the ones who apparently had known. People like my Grandfather, who was held as a political prisoner in a concentration camp, he knew, he had seen it.

I read Trump’s tweets today in the morning and it’s becoming more and more apparent, he is attacking the free press. He is attacking journalism and free speech. He is attacking our constitution.
A very good friend of mine lives in the South -that’s where we met years ago- and I know as a fact that she voted and believes in Donald Trump. She is a diehard conservative, and over the years we were able to block it out. We didn’t talk about politics at all, it was the elephant in the room, that we never mentioned.
